Floods Inundate Dozens of Houses in Bengkulu District

Mukomuko, Bengkulu. Flood waters triggered by incessant rain since Wednesday have swamped dozens of houses in Mukomuko district, Bengklulu.

“Around 124 houses at three villages in Lubuk Piang subdistrict as of Thursday morning have been inundated by flood waters,” Mukomuko district spokesman Suyoso said on Thursday.

Suyoso said that other nearby villages were also overrun, but the exact number of buildings affected had yet to be confirmed.

“We are still collecting other data because the floods also inundated other villages.”

The only casualties, he said, were a large number of chickens and ducks swept away by the floods.
